Victorian Restoration - 609 Bangor Road, Houlton
David Crane Carpentry purchased the historic "Long Farm" and after two years of painstaking renovation, returned the property to its glory. It was a complete "gut job" - everything was stripped down to the studs. We rebuilt the entire home from the foundation up. Everything is new, except for the molding and doors which we managed to save and restore. Our team completed all finish carpentry, window replacements, roofing, drywall, and the painting.
We remodeled the kitchen and added four modern bathrooms. The wrap around porch and rail systems were reconstructed with custom millwork to preserve the historic charm.
In 2013, David Crane Construction built this custom cabin for a returning client. This was a ground-up job with custom carpentry and rustic elements throughout. All of the beams were hand-hewn.
Projects like this one are a good example of the carpentry skills of our crew.
The name we gave this project does not do it justice. We detached the deck and placed rollers on ground to transfer it out of the way, to dig for footings, foundation, and an addition.
The “Yellow Boat House” was jacked up and fitted for footings, a wood floor and “landscaping”.
